Taylor Swift and God

God is everywhere. God was with Noah on the (super smelly) ark with the zebras. God was somewhere around the Titanic when it hit the iceberg. And God even has attended a Taylor Swift concert (gasp!).

God knows no boundaries. God shares love everywhere…even with all people in all places at all times.

So should we be shocked that God’s voice…AKA God’s Word…AKA The Bible can be found throughout our culture?

No, we don’t live in Bible Land, where everyone is a Christian and all people are Jesus followers. Not even close. We do, however, live in a time and space when faith is found anywhere and everywhere, where we can choose to live out our beliefs and love in deeply creative and conscious ways.

This video just makes me laugh. It’s a string of pop songs (some you’ll know, some your parents will know) to represent events in the Bible. If you don’t get all of the songs and Bible stories, that’s OK…we have more to learn together!

Learning God’s Voice (AKA The Bible) is your parents’ job. It’s also your job. And my job, too. It’s not just a responsibility to read/study/listen/discuss/agree/disagree with Scripture (AKA Bible sentences), but it’s sort of an honor and a privilege, like a driver’s license. But way more important. We hold God’s voice in our hands, in 66 books! And we’ll continue to journey and learn more, like a major Minecraft adventure.
