Did that title get your attention??

Yes, we are taking our whole entire church (some might say The Whole Enchilada) on a mission trip. AND we’re not leaving the sanctuary. I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s go on a mission trip!

Some of you went to Nicaragua or to Smith River this summer. Some of you stayed home and left an awesome dent in your couch cushion. It’s all good because here’s your chance to be on mission with us. Please join us this Sunday!

The (non-youth) people of our church were so very supportive of us last summer, and they will be supportive of the awesome things we have planned this year (like a retreat in November!!). Let’s celebrate God’s awesome inventions of church community, people who are kind, awesome food from faraway places, and memories that are amazing, too. We have SO MUCH TO BE GRATEFUL FOR!! (And we have donuts, too.)

Grady, Olivia, Jacque, Anthony, Arielle, Ashley, Birgitta, Megan, Ian, Zeph, Addy, Sarah….please meet me at 9:15 am on the Sanctuary steps (by the big cross). We’ll have donuts and fruit for the taking (in the side room) while we put last-minute plans in place for Worship this Sunday.

FYI, ALL will have a part to play. I’ve contacted you if you have a speaking part. Others, we will serve as “NAMETAG GIVER-OUTERS,” Greeters and Overall awesome youth people. Sound good?? This is going to be a blast!! (IF you didn’t go on the trips but really like donuts and helping out, I could sure use your help. Meet us anytime before 9:45. You are the bestest.)

I feel like Jesus would eat donuts. Ecclesiastes 9:7–“Go, eat your food with gladness.”

Last night’s FIRST YOUTH GROUP was fun. Our next big youth thing is this Sunday (WORSHIP) AAAND

  • We have lots to cover, including school year plans, summer trips and lots of fun stuff!!!!
  • Please, please, please be there!!

This passage from the Bible really stuck out, and it includes our THEME VERSE for the year!! Check it:

1st Peter 4:8-11:

Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. 10 Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 11 Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

And now a pun, because it’s baseball season, and the Astros are further than usual: I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. And then it hit me.

Happy Thursday!
