Howdy folks, Dude here.
Who doesn’t love a great mystery, right?
And in the spirit of great mystery, I have no idea what’s gonna happen tomorrow night!
However, I can safely say we will gather and have an awesome time!
Join us tomorrow (5/24 at 6:30pm) for super fun and awesomeness! Invite a friend!
Did you know that almost all Presbyterian churches follow a common lectionary? (what is a lectionary you ask? Just a fancy word for Bible selections chosen to be read in church service).
Impress your peers and parents by knowing the future!! Be prepared ahead of time and say something about the Gospel before next Sunday (5/28). Then, when Sunday rolls around and they hear the words (hopefully) everyone will be like “omg! so-and-so is a genius!”
The Gospel for this Sunday is from John 17:1-11. (I know y’all have Bibles so look it up!)
Jesus is about to be crucified and is praying to the Lord. He is praying for himself, for God’s glory and for his disciples.
I think the important point to remember about all those fancy Bible words is that Jesus is glorified in us when we believe the truth of the gospel, receive it, and share the gospel with others.
John 17:11 – “And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one.”
See y’all tomorrow and stay cool.
