You made it through another school year! Congratulations to everyone, especially our high school graduates, Anthony Graham, Grady Killian, and Ben DeVries!
I know that this summer is weird and different for all of us, but we’re going to do our best to make it memorable. Due to our inability to meet in person and do fun summer activities together, we’re going to be offering more alternatives to virtually hang out. We will be meeting every Wednesday evening from 7pm-8pm, and each week we will feature a new and exciting challenge for you to complete. This week’s challenge, due by July 8, is a video challenge. We are asking you to recreate your favorite scene from a movie or tv show and send it in. We will screen submissions during group on Wednesday, July 8. Hayley and I will be doing our own scene recreation for your amusement.
In addition to our new weekly challenges, we will now also be hosting a bi-weekly Netflix Party, using the chrome browser extension, Netflix Party. You can find the download as well as the tutorial here: https://www.netflixparty.com/
It’s super simple, and it makes it possible to watch movies and tv shows together while chatting. You can also minimize the chat box if you just want to watch a movie with friends. Our next scheduled Netflix Party is Friday, July 3 at 6:30pm. Mark it in your calendars! And submit movie or tv show ideas!
Don’t forget to follow our Instagram account, @youth.valley for regular updates on our ministry, as well as daily verses and general uplifting in our stories!
We have also decided to streamline communication with parents and students through our new weekly news blast, the first of which you should have received in your email on Monday. If you have announcements you would like for us to include, get them sent to me by Sunday every week so I have time to get it into the newsletter.
Don’t forget to tune in this Sunday at 10:00am for to celebrate our graduates at our Graduate Sunday service! The service is broadcast via live-stream on VCPC’s Facebook.
“24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
