Hey there, everybody! You might have noticed that there was no weekly news blast this week. You might be thinking something like “Marshall must have forgotten to send out the weekly news blast,” and if you are thinking that, you are exactly right. I did forget.

You know what? That’s okay, because Valley Youth has nothing scheduled for this week! Just know that we are all praying for you as you wrap up your schooling prior to Winter Break.

So what’s next?

We are planning on taking a hike the week after Christmas and before the New Year. The reason I’m not being more specific is because I can’t. It’s a matter of the utmost secrecy…just kidding, we’re just monitoring the weather so that we can pick the best day for a hike! So keep your whole calendar clear. All of it. Make no other plans.

Okay, okay, I’m kidding. But we do hope you can join us for our hike. We will be carefully maintaining social distance while enjoying the fellowship of others and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation!

I hope you are all enjoying Advent! Hayley and I have been watching Christmas movies, decorating the house, wrapping presents, and being generally psyched about Christmas Day.

That being said, this Christmas is weird. Really weird. Like the weirdest Christmas any of us have ever experienced. For instance, this is our first Christmas spent outside of our hometown with our families. Ever. We’re sad that it had to pan out this way, but we’re also excited to spend our first Christmas independently.

For a lot of people, it’s going to be tough holiday season. We must continue to keep healthcare professionals, essential workers, and first responders in our prayers, as well as the average family in America. These are trying times, and the holidays can already be a difficult time of year for some. Be sure to reach out to family and friends. Stay connected and remind people that they are loved.

If any of you need prayer, or have any other requests, you know where to find me. I look forward to seeing you all again!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

-Marshall
